A Walk Through Time: Looking into the Past of Marist Fashion's Silver Needle Runway
By Blythe Weninger
Marist Fashion's annual Silver Needle Runway (SNR) show is not just a showcase of current trends; it’s a testament to student creativity and evolving design. Offering a unique insight into the evolution of the fashion program on campus, our team decided to look into the Marist Archives to highlight and celebrate the legacy of our student work and the development of style over the years.
Launched in the 1980s, SNR has brought some of the most renowned names in fashion to the Marist College campus, including Marc Jacobs, Carolina Herrera, Oscar de la Renta, Michael Kors, Bill Blass, Bob Mackie and more. Today, the show continues to support the creative work of Marist’s Fashion Design and Merchandising students and has earned a prestigious reputation.
Most recently, Vogue recognized the Marist Fashion Program as one of the "Best Fashion Schools for Design, Marketing, and More."
Below are some of our favorite photos from the Marist archives. For more, follow us on all platforms @silverneedlerunway, and don’t miss @maristarchives for more incredible content of Marist College.
